I just made this my cover photo on Facebook…
*In 1 Chronicles 22-24, David has decided to build God a temple. But God told him that he had shed too much blood and could only prepare the temple; Solomon would build the temple.
So David calls in little Solomon, poor kid, he can’t be more than a teenager at this point, and tells him that God has planned out his life for him and that he, Solomon, would build God’s temple. God will give Solomon rest with his enemies, riches, and the wisdom to rule peacefully. God even chose Solomon’s name!
Hearing that as a teenager might freak me out a little bit, to be honest. But I know Solomon kept that on his heart, because that’s not something you just forget as you get older. Knowing that God had already planned my life, and that it contained a great deal of rest, would be a GREAT comfort as an adult because adult life is full of anything BUT rest! I’m only in college, just getting my first real taste of adult life, and I’m already stressed to the max! But just because God didn’t name me after the rest my life would bring, doesn’t mean that I can’t work to be restful. “Work to be restful.” Sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s not. Resting really does take some work because there are so many distractions in the world today! The internet, school, jobs, children, etc. Resting sounds like a really good idea right about now, at the end of the semester, when I’m burnt out and couldn’t think straight if I tried. I’m gonna rest a lot this summer. Rest in God.

I have to create a blog post as my last project for my computer’s class.
Uh…nope. Didn’t know there was a tumblr dating game, but I’m not surprised that there is.
